![There are a few tricks that will help you maximise the life of your gorgeous new spray tan, and my website has the full low-down on everything you need to know. But here are three essential things to know that will help you to get more bang for your buck…
Prepare for Your Spray Tan: You want the tanning solution to land on your newest skin cells so your tan will stay put until those skin cells complete their renewal process and fall away. Exfoliate the night before, or [ideally] every second day in the week leading up to your appointment and shave at least 8hrs prior or wax at least 12hrs prior to your appointment.
Nourish Your Skin: This is SO important. Starting between 12 – 24hrs after your appointment, moisturise at least once or twice daily to prevent fading through premature loss of dead skin cells. Keep them nourished, and keep them on your body for longer.
Prevent Premature Fading: Avoid external factors that will break down your tan by sticking to short showers, avoiding hot baths/tubs and chlorinated pools, and avoiding products that are oil-based (including mineral oils), highly fragranced, and that contain petroleum jelly or SLS
